I recently purchased a 2005 Landcruiser Prado at auction up here in Townsville, and as part of the process of getting it registered it needed to be fitted with new tyres. Having not bought new tyres for a vehicle for many years (my hilux is fitted with BFGoodrich All Terrains, which have given me many good years of service), I set about "shopping around" for prices on a new set. After endless phone calls and visits to shopfronts, I established that the BFG All Terrains were currently under an Australia-wide shortage in my size.
Please pass on my thanks to the staff in the Townsville store, particularly Dave and Tony, who answered my numerous phone calls and provided the best service out of any of the tyre shops that I rang on the day. Their prices were very competitive as well - in fact, they quoted the lowest price for the BFG ATs (and other brands) out of the 3 suppliers in Townsville.
Although I wasn't able to get the tyres that I wanted on this occasion (due to circumstances out of their control), the service that I received was outstanding. As I said to Dave and Tony this morning, I have no requirement to shop around next time - Jax Townsville has my business for as long as I stay in town.
