Hankook Tyre present a range of high-performance tyres at Essen Motor Show
Hankook was once again present at the Essen Motor Show. The tyre maker naturally focused on its ultra-high performance tyres. The traditional fair in the Ruhr area is a fixed date in the calendar, and a Mecca for tuning and motorsport fans. In addition to attractive show cars and the "Nürburgring e-Sports Lounge", Hankook presented its wide summer and winter tyre line-up, in particular its current flagship, the Ventus S1 evo 3.
Premium tyre maker Hankook was once again represented at the Essen Motor Show from 29th November to 8th December featuring its wide range of summer and winter tyres. The highlight was the Ventus S1 evo 3, which has been available since the spring in Europe, initially in 72 sizes from 17 to 22 inches. This high-end tyre has already achieved a podium finish in Auto Bild magazine’s 2019 summer tyre test featuring 53 brands. In particular the tyre excelled with its wet grip, driving behaviour and steering precision.
"This is now the 15th time we have exhibited at the Essen Motor Show and look forward to many interesting discussions with our tuning-inspired fans. The tuning business is very important for the German market. In addition to our wide range of tyres for all seasons, our new flagship Ventus S1 evo 3 is the highlight of this year," said Dietmar Olbrich, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Hankook Reifen Deutschland.
Famous footballers, from top German club Borussia Dortmund, and TV presenter Sidney Hoffmann from PS Profis, signed autographs for their fans on the Hankook stand. In addition, René Rast, this year's DTM season champion, visited the Hankook stand for a meet & greet on the first Saturday of the fair.
E-sports were a major feature of Hankook at the Essen Motor Show this year, as tuning and motorsport also had a strong virtual presence at the show. Visitors to the Hankook stand in the "Nürburgring e-Sports Lounge" climbed into the virtual cockpits in the race simulators to compete, and hot lap tournaments took place on the Saturdays during the fair, with some great prizes being handed out by a top presenter from TV channel Sport1. The main prize was a ‘co-drive’ in the Seyffarth AUDI R8 LMS Cup on a real race track. There was also a QR code competition, with VIP ticket prizes given out for BVB, Real Madrid, the ice hockey Spengler Cup and DTM races.
Hankook demonstrated its great affinity, passion and enthusiasm for tuning and motorsport with a selection of powerful racing and tuning vehicles at the fair. In addition, the prestigious tyre maker continued as the main sponsor, and exclusive tyre partner, of 'TUNE IT! SAFE!' the campaign for safe and legal tuning under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, with the unveiling of the 2020 campaign vehicle taking place, in the presence of the Hankook management team, at the VDAT exhibition stand, directly opposite the Hankook exhibition stand.
