Bridgestone’s Global Mobility Solutions at CES 2020
Bridgestone will be demonstrating many of their mobility solutions at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, focusing on extended mobility improved safety and increased efficiency
The world’s largest tyre company, Bridgestone, has announced it will be making its first-ever appearance at CES in Las Vegas, between Jan. 7th to 10th, 2020. CES is the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Bridgestone will be demonstrating many of their mobility solutions, with a particular emphasis on extended mobility, improved safety and increased efficiency and all making progress towards an autonomous future.
“CES presents Bridgestone with a unique opportunity to demonstrate how we are transforming to become the most trusted partner for mobility solutions,” said TJ Higgins, vice president and senior officer, global chief strategic officer, Bridgestone. “Bridgestone has a nearly 90-year history of using technology and research to develop advanced products, services and solutions for a world in motion. As we look to the future, we are combining our core tyre expertise with a wide range of digital solutions to deliver connected products and services that promote safe, sustainable mobility and continue contributing to society’s advancement.”
Bridgestone will feature many of its state-of-the-art mobility solutions at CES, including:
- Bridgestone Airless Tyres for Extended Mobility – Bridgestone has had almost 90 years of leadership in tyre development, always with the goal of ensuring safe and uninterrupted mobility. At the show they will be displaying their new advanced air free tyres, which have been developed to provide solutions for commercial fleet operators as well various personal mobility solutions.. These unique airless tyres from Bridgestone combine the tyre tread and wheel into one durable, high-strength structure, which eliminates the need for air in the tyres and essentially erases the potential issues arising from flat tyres. Bridgestone will also be demonstrating their airless, elastic tyre and wheel solution for an upcoming lunar rover, that is being developed for an international space exploration mission.
- Proactive Smart Tyre Technology for Improved Safety – One of the missing areas of today’s mobility technology is the knowledge of what is going on between a vehicle’s tyres and the road surface, which is one of the barriers to Level 5 autonomous driving., Bridgestone is working on this need by building a ‘digital’ twin of the tyre, which it is combining with its vast knowledge, tyre sensors and powerful simulation capabilities, to create specific predictions of the behaviour of tyres on autonomous vehicles, which can then be used to assist in the safety aspects of the car’s self-driving algorithms. Bridgestone will be demonstrating this futuristic technology at CES.
- Webfleet Solutions for Increased Efficiency – Bridgestone’s Webfleet Solutions platform uses data and analytics to efficiently help the movements of millions of vehicles. There will be demonstrations at CES, where consumers will be able to view simulations of how telematics powers connected vehicle ecosystems. These systems are already helping to improve the efficiency, costs and safety of transportation systems around the entire world.
